Protective Factors & the Intersection with Hawaiian Values
This training explores how cultural values and traditions strengthen protective factors and support the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Strong cultural ties can build resilience, foster belonging, and improve outcomes in child welfare. Participants will reflect on how protective factors may show up differently across families and learn how to promote cultural connectedness in their work through videos, articles, and supplemental materials.
This training is designed to support new staff and can be used as part of onboarding or orientation. It also encourages self-directed learning, allowing participants to set their own learning goals and revisit materials at their own pace.
