Maui Family Support Services appears on KHON2 to talk about early education
Larae Balag, Director of Early Childhood Education at Maui Family Support Services, appeared in the second segment of the KHON2 series entitled, “For Our Keiki,” sponsored by HCAN and the Executive Office on Early Learning (EOEL).
“The Importance of Talking with Your Keiki” aired on KHII and KHON2 (February 11 and 12 at 7 p.m.) and on Wake Up Today (February 12 at 7 and 8 a.m.)! This series aligns with the launch of the First 5 Hawaii media campaign, a one-stop resource for families to explore eligibility for state and federal programs.
Small Conversations, Big Impact
To us, it may sound like a babble, but to a child’s developing brain, it’s building blocks.
In this segment of For Our Keiki, Jill Kuramoto takes a closer look at the power of conversation — and why those little talks are shaping young minds in very serious ways.
“So, through talking, singing and just engaging with your child, that’s all fostering that development throughout those first five years,” Maui Family Support Services Inc. Director Lara Balag said.
